I installed Songpop on Facebook a week ago and enjoy it very much, but one thing that really bugs me is the use of fake (artificial intelligence) opponents without this being acknowledged by the developers.
The first challenge or best match I was paired with has consistently copied everything I do - installed the same bought playlists (and no others), liked a portion of the same favourite songs (and no others). She has no recorded location. She doesn't respond to private messages. She seems to sign in like clockwork several times a day and play just one round against me a time. She gets 100% of the songs right on brand new playlists on obscure musical topics in unbelievable times. When I'm ahead by a few games, her times become insanely fast (well under one second) to ensure that she closes the gap. She always manages to crawl back to neck and neck but almost never pulls ahead.
She obviously doesn't exist. Why does the developer use this deceptive method? It's quite useful to have a computer-generated opponent against whom to clock up some points and experience, but really this should be acknowledged for what it is, not passed off as a real person with the photo of a real person who is not even there. That's my one real gripe about this otherwise fun game.
